Yes that is why you pick it. We ate it with green onions with a vinegar and oil dressing. Some people heat the dressing to wilt the lettuce. I guess the most fun was picking it sort of a hunt

We pick wild lettuce in the spring. It sort of looks like dandelion but dull with a little maroon or pink streak sometimes. It grows in the Appalachains
